Retinal OCT Camera
To give you the best possible EYE TEST we have now purchased an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) Camera – this uses light to produce detailed images of all the layers of retina of the eye , much like a sonar uses sound waves . The images produced in this way shows eye diseases at an earlier stages, by upto 5 years- leading to better treatment outcomes. It can diagnose conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy , optic neuritis and detached retina.
It is recommended that all patient over 50 years should have an OCT test as well as their normal FREE NHS test ( which is paid for NHS Scotland) our cost to you for this is £15. Please let us know if you would like OCT examination when making your appointment.
